Theft is a Serious Offense with Long Term Consequences
A theft, receiving stolen property, embezzlement, or ID theft conviction can not only carry prison or jail time, it can ruin future career and educational goals. Theft charges are considered crimes of dishonesty. Employers and school administrators do not want to hire someone they can’t trust. When it comes to hiring someone with a clean record or someone who has been convicted of stealing, the answer is easy.
Theft charges can also cause family discord and mistrust. Parents lose trust in their children when they find out they stole or shoplifted something. Husbands and wives run into trust issues when one is caught embezzling from work or using the others name to make purchases behind the other’s back. These are real issue and real problems. The biggest problem is being charged with theft or shoplifting, embezzlement or Identity fraud can lead to legal criminal prosecution. These theft or fraud charges can be misdemeanors or a felony.

Many times, there are deeper issues involved than just someone out there wanting to commit a crime
