Rick was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in the United States Army as a Patriot Missile Crewmember in Germany. Rick worked at AT&T while he attended the University of Cincinnati, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Administrative Management. In 1999, Rick received his Juris Doctor from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. While at Chase College of Law, he was a member of the Chase Moot Court Board, as well as the Chase Law Review.
Since becoming licensed to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky, Rick’s focus of his law practice is criminal defense and family law. He is well respected in the local legal community, both as an accomplished courtroom litigator, as well as a highly skilled negotiator. Rick represents people from all backgrounds, including other attorneys, as well as magistrates.
Rick and Brad Fox began working together as lawyers in 2004. They formed FOXSCOTTLAW in March 2006.
Rick tells every client not to worry until he tells them that it is time to worry. This is because he wants them to know that he will handle whatever comes up in the case. If Rick doesn’t tell them to worry, then he isn’t worried. He does this so that when panic sets in for the client, as it usually does during a case, the client will remember that Rick doesn’t want his clients to worry – that is the point of hiring him. Ask any former client of his, and they will tell you that this is happens at the very first meeting with Rick.
Rick represents clients in Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
